Fitness Tip: Muscle Strength-one of the components of physical fitness.

Get an early start to Holidays and Vacation in physical fitness. Get your body ready and in control so it won’t be out of control as we enter the usual time of more busyness, higher stress, and more food. Don’t flow with the majority. The weather is wonderful, get outdoors, walk and enjoy! Also add progressive resistance training to your workout, if you are not doing it already.

This means to increase the amount of stress to the muscles as they increase in strength. You do this by increasing the weights you are lifting and/or the amounts of repetitions and sets. (Amazing the correlation to spiritual growth, as we walk through more stress, we get more stronger). There are so many benefits to resistance training, decrease risk of heart disease, decrease risk of injury, we are more resilient, increase in physical strength, increase in bone density, enhance physical appearance & attitude, and most important for those working on weight loss: increase metabolic function, muscle has greater fat burning capabilities.

I have worked with many clients over the years and for any weight loss program, it is vitally important to do both nutritional fine-tuning and exercise. You do not want to lose muscle! So important to lose body fat, retain muscle and continue to strengthen those muscles so that your body is maintained and stabilized.
