But he that received seed in the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it, who also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Matthew 13:23
January has come and gone. Was it just that fast or just me? How are we doing on our New Year’s resolutions? (The world calls it New Year’s resolutions, I call it goals and visions, and not to go around the same mountains). Did we even make any? I’m discovering that many people did not make any New Year’s resolutions, many haven’t taken the time to reflect on last year, and that many are just trying to survive the day to day struggles. I do know that there are many that have, but those of you that haven’t, Stop! Take some quiet time before the Lord. Reflect on the scriptures from Matthew 13:23. We should be at that place that our ground is good, because God has called and chosen us. We are receiving seed, and therefore, we should be bearing fruit, hundredfold, sixty and some thirty. Isn’t that awesome! All you have to do is hear the word and understand it! God wants us to live daily bearing and bringing forth fruit. To be growing and walking in the fullness of all He has for us daily!
Reflect where you are at and what kind of fruit you are bearing and bringing forth, and challenge yourself to bear and bring a hundredfold! It should be all to reflect Our Lord, Jesus! He is a God of Hundredfold! Is your ground good to receive seed? Just get in the word, listen and ask God for understanding.
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left, remove thy foot from evil. Proverbs 4:25-27
Fitness Tip:
Webster’s dictionary describes Discipline-training that develops self control, efficiency, etc., strict control to enforce obedience.
The tip for this month is to focus on discipline. To bring your body and mind into submission to the Spirit is exactly as the definition states, train yourself to develop self control (Strict control), and your life will be more efficient. Bring discipline to your day, start little by little. Train your day as soon as you wake up in the morning. First and foremost is to get in God’s word, and allow the Holy Spirit to plan your day, to give you your daily bread to nourish you throughout. Then add workouts and meals accordingly. Make sure that you eat breakfast.
*This article was written years ago, but felt it was still timely! What I felt led to add is that sometimes fruit comes in different forms…the fruit that has been strong in my life is joy and gratitude! I can strongly say that God has sown seeds in my life of joy and gratitude! Amazingly, I see that fruit has multiplied, maybe even a hundredfold-can I say that without sounding like i’ve arrived, please hear my heart, no way, I say with a full heart of joy and gratitude that through trials and difficulties, God has increased His joy in me!! Praise God-thank you, Lord!!
